Update on Covid providing information on prevalence and hospital admissions for England and its regions. This post is best viewed using the browser or Substack app.
Thank you for all your hard work in compiling this. I must admit to only reading the first half, then skimming the rest but it helps to know the way we are heading. My husband and I havent had it, don't want it thanks and therefore are jabbed and where appropriate masked. We appreciate your help.
I’m sorry, but I reckon I have had a pretty high threshold for processing information, but this lot, whilst amazing, is too much. What is it for? What are the recommendations? Professor Pagel to summarise, maybe? Basically? ‘You ought to get your vaccinations, but otherwise nothing more’!? I got covid in August and am waiting to get my vaccination later. I may not bother. I have no real idea what gap to leave and no idea to what the latest jab gives protection against getting the latest strain or the likelihood that it reduces the effect of getting it. We seem to have sunk into a mindless cycle. I feel like a farm animal. I know of a very elderly gentleman, living alone, who got Covid a few weeks ago, and described it as something like ‘the worst he has ever felt’. He could hardly get up to get food. He could have died at home, death certificate not showing covid. The vaccination program was way too late for him, but he still dutifully turned up for his double up jab a few weeks later. His g.p. Practice reception was no help. Shame on us.
‘the worst he has ever felt’ .... heard that just yesterday from a neighbour.
Repeating something I wrote here last week... "Pity there is such cultural resistance to running filtered air in essential smaller social events where ventilation will not be adequate or even possible."
2 of us into our 80s ... daughter in house getting over a 'singing-group covid' ... their initial tests unreliable, (worth knowing?) but so far HEPA filters and judicious internal quarantine + FPP3 working first week exposure. If we get away with it guess local 'elderly' art group will borrow our filters. Jabs covid / flu next week with luck.

Thank you as always 👍
