SARS COV 2 is not as transmissible as flu. Flu is highly transmissible which is why it is very winter dominant. In winter, people quickly build up immunity to flu and flu is practically gone outside of winter. By contrast, SARS COV 2 is not very transmissible, so people don't build up a lot of immunity to it so it lingers and circulates at low levels throughout the year.

It's a good thing SARS COV 2 deaths dropped quite a bit this week compared to last week. 0.6% of deaths compared to 0.8% of deaths. Part of that could be due to reduced testing but I think part of the reason could be due to continued loss of severity of SARS COV 2.
